Media Logic’s retail social juice index: what does it all mean?
What does it do?
Media Logic’s Retail Social Juice Index (RSJI) analyzes a variety of social interactions on Facebook and Twitter and distills the data into a single useful number. It is a measure of engagement between a brand and its fan base. The RSJI, quite intentionally, does not factor sentiment into its scores. A high number sustained over a long period of time is almost always good news. Spikes in scores can indicate either a promotional success or a customer service issue. Either way, they are worth noting.
Who does it track?
Media Logic tracks nearly 700 national retailers, including major brick-and-mortar chains, online merchants and catalog brands across 15 industry sectors. Those retailers that have a Facebook fan base of at least 15,000 “likers” are included in the RSJI analysis.
Where does my number come from?
To determine the number for each brand, we evaluate its social interactions over a 24 to 72-hour activity window and analyze its performance in the context of the Index average to arrive at a number that reflects its relative performance among the total number of companies being tracked that day.
How can i use the index?
